PDO Thread Lift

Description
The PDO Thread Lift is a treatment that's minimally invasive by nature and aims to tighten the skin and lift it to combat the aging process. Unlike surgical procedures, including the popular facelift, this treatment can lift and tighten the skin without incisions.  Once these threads are inserted into the skin, they attach to the tissue and lift it upward. Their presence in the skin forces the body to increase collagen and elastin production, which also  increases skin volume and smoothes lines and wrinkles. PDO refers to Polydioxanone, a substance that makes up the threads that have been used in the medical world for years during various types of surgical procedures. These threads are most commonly used during cardiothoracic surgery, and once inserted into the body, they are absorbed through a process called hydrolysis. After this absorption, the body heals, and there is no risk of scar tissue in place of the threads. While these threads have proven to be effective in surgical procedures, they're also effective when used in the cosmetic treatment called the PDO Thread Lift. This treatment uses these threads to cause collagen and elastin synthesis. Once they're placed directly below the skin's surface in strategic locations to lift and tighten the skin, the body will respond to their presence and increase collagen production.

Post-recovery and Results
Once absorbed by the body, the new contours and tighter and lifted skin will last anywhere from 12 to 15 months post-treatment. You will enjoy tighter and more youthful-looking skin for a significant amount of time. The good news is, at some point, when your results begin to fade, you can schedule a follow-up treatment to continue to maintain younger-looking skin.
Is There Downtime?
Unlike an invasive surgical procedure designed to lift and tighten the skin such as a traditional Facelift. Downtime with this procedure is more of an aesthetic down time. You may feel mild discomfort days after this procedure is done. A follow up appointment is recommended to make sure everything is healing nicely. Patients may return to their daily activities as soon as the next day. However,  the only activity that shall be avoided for the first 2 weeks is strenuous or heavy lifting activities.  We will provide you with extensive details on how to care for your skin and what products or activities to avoid in the treatment following days so that you can achieve optimal results.
